We are very excited that “Old Time Hoedown Presents Roots Night” is moving over to Johnny’s Pub & Grill at 1382 Culver Road this coming Thursday, April 13th! Many thanks to Johnny Savino and Kristin Flammia Joubert for picking up our series! We hope to make you proud!
We will be hitting it out the the park at the get-go with long-time friends, “Gone Fishin’,” a band of six great friends and brothers who have been entertaining in the Webster and surrounding area for over 30 years!
This six piece bluegrass band grew their love of music and the outdoors into a life-long passion for the fun of playing in front of a crowd, whether it be in a coffee house, bar or at the Webster Gazebo. Their music-making continues to provide joy and purpose.
Webster natives Don Hauza (guitar) and Dick Cataldi (fiddle) founded the group in the late 70’s when they took a vacation in the Adirondacks together. Dick’s brothers Tony (bass) and Steve (mandolin/vocals) Cataldi soon joined the group, playing music in the many little bars and restaurants in the Adirondack region, gaining a following of dedicated fans. Shortly thereafter, Mark Manzoni (lead guitar/vocals) helped step the band into high gear with strong musical talent and an injection of great new songs. A few years ago Dan Gurbacki joined as their high-energy banjo expert.
We (Old Time Hoedown) will start the night off at 7:30 and then clear the stage around 8:15 for Gone Fishin’, who, from 8:30-9:30, will wow you with their mix of traditional bluegrass, country tunes, jazzie flavors and even some rock as they share the fun they are having on stage with you! Get ready for some toe-tapping bluegrass! Around 9:30 or so, we’ll invite you instrument-totin’ folks to join us for a rousing old-time jam, which will wrap up around 10:30, unless we go longer!
Please join us Thursday, April 13th, grab a bite to eat off the menu, quench your thirst with a cool and refreshing libation, and tap your toes to some great music!
Hope to see you:
